The 2027 Mississippi State schedule gives our preseason discussion a set of actual dates. The matchups below are the three I would circle first: tests of roster depth and contender expectations, rather than a claim that preseason national rankings have already settled the league.

As of October 7, 33 regular-season games have been announced, including all 30 SEC games. The rest of the nonconference schedule is still pending; this is a preview of the released slate, not an invented complete schedule.

Our starting point is the preseason outlook. A close ending tells us the season mattered. It also leaves specific work for the next pitching staff and lineup.

Mar 25 – Mar 27 · at Georgia

Early Athens trip against a Georgia roster with substantial turnover. State’s young lineup and national-team pitching experience make this a useful test of its ability to hold and extend an advantage.

Apr 2 – Apr 4 · vs. Ole Miss

Home rivalry series immediately after Athens. Our preseason concern is whether State has enough dependable innings across consecutive demanding weekends, rather than needing the same arms every night.

Apr 30 – May 2 · vs. Oklahoma

Hosting the reigning national champion supplies a direct late-April test of State’s ambitions. Parker’s protection in the lineup and the staff’s command with traffic matter more than October enthusiasm.
