The 2027 Tennessee schedule gives our preseason discussion a set of actual dates. The matchups below are the three I would circle first: tests of roster depth and contender expectations, rather than a claim that preseason national rankings have already settled the league.

As of October 7, the school has released its complete 56-game regular-season schedule.

Our starting point is the preseason outlook. The roster earns attention. Pitching development has to make that attention last beyond an introductory press release.

Mar 19 – Mar 21 · vs. Oklahoma

The league opener brings the defending national champion to Knoxville. Tennessee’s fresh roster and coaching transition make this a revealing test of whether the new rotation can protect a whole weekend, rather than produce one impressive start.

Apr 9 – Apr 11 · at Texas

Austin is the road checkpoint I would circle. Our preseason outlook treats Texas as one of the conference’s most convincing early cases; Tennessee’s lineup has to create pressure against that level of opposition without letting a short start exhaust the relief group.

May 20 – May 22 · vs. Vanderbilt

The rivalry closes the regular season at home. Vanderbilt’s reworked pitching responsibilities and Tennessee’s own turnover make dependable innings the central question. By May, this series should tell us much more than either team’s fall optimism.
